Best home takeout! Sweet chili lo mein steak stir fry. A delicious and easy stir fry recipe featuring thinly sliced ribeye steak, a flavorful sweet chili sauce, and lo mein noodles, garnished with fresh green onions.
1. Mix dry seasonings (salt, pepper, onion powder) with thinly sliced steak and 1/4 cup cornstarch. Add 2-4 tablespoons of oil to a pan and sauté the seasoned steak over medium-high heat for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Once cooked, remove the steak and set it aside.
2. In a separate bowl, mix all the ingredients for the sauce: lime juice, dark soy sauce, ketchup, sugar, honey, finely chopped Thai chili peppers, and 1/2 of the chopped green onions.
3. Using the same pan, reduce the heat to medium. Add 1/2 of the minced ginger and 1/2 of the minced garlic and stir for a few seconds until fragrant. Add the sliced white onions and sauté until they are soft and translucent but still retain some crunch. Remove the onions and set them aside.
4. Pour the prepared sauce into the same pan and let it reduce by about a quarter. This should take approximately 3-4 minutes over medium-low heat.
5. Once the sauce has reduced, return the cooked steak and sautéed onions to the pan. Add the cooked noodles. Continuously stir the mixture to ensure the noodles do not stick to the pan and that the sauce fully combines with all ingredients.
6. Garnish with the remaining green onions and serve immediately.
